Advanced settings

WAV output is uncompressed PCM at 44.1 kHz. It is often much larger than MP3 and cannot recover sound detail the MP3 has already lost.

Three simple steps

  1. 01

Choose an audio file, or a video for Video to MP3.

  2. 02

Choose your settings and start. You will see the upload, queue and processing status.

Frequently asked questions

Will converting MP3 to WAV restore lost quality?

No. WAV stores the decoded sound without another lossy encoding step, but frequencies and detail discarded when the MP3 was made cannot be reconstructed.

Where are my files processed?

These tools upload files for server processing. Files expire after 24 hours and are then scheduled for cleanup. Continue Editing remembers files in this browser tab until refresh. Processing does not use your credits.

Which formats and limits apply?

Audio input: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC and OGG. Video to MP3 accepts MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM with an audio track. Guests: 25 MB; signed-in users: 100 MB. Up to 10 minutes, mono or stereo. Audio outputs are MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A and OGG; extraction and compression export MP3. OGG uses Opus at 48 kHz; other outputs use 44.1 kHz and does not preserve tags or artwork.

Use MP3 audio in a WAV-only workflow

Some editors or delivery systems ask for a WAV file. This page decodes your MP3 and exports 16-bit PCM WAV at 44.1 kHz, leaving the original MP3 untouched.

Expect a larger output file

PCM WAV does not use MP3's lossy compression, so output can grow substantially. A larger WAV is a compatibility choice, not proof of better source quality. Check your destination's WAV requirements before exporting.
